Mahesh Pillai is a seasoned transformation leader with over two decades of experience driving large-scale change across Finance, Shared Services, and enterprise technology. His work spans ERP implementation, Business Process Management, Cloud adoption, Mobility, and increasingly, Agentic AI β executed across industries as diverse as Logistics, Manufacturing, FMCG, Technology, Telecom, Mining, Automotive, and Ecommerce & Retail.
A commerce graduate of Bangalore University, Mahesh has complemented his field experience with rigorous training in General Management, Corporate Accounting, Finance, and Business Laws through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
He cut his teeth in enterprise transformation at Motorola India, where he was part of the Process and Transition Team that established the company’s Global Shared Services Center β a formative assignment that shaped his conviction that process discipline and structural clarity are the engines of scalable growth.
At Pierian, Mahesh progressed from process and quality champion to architect of a high-impact consulting practice spanning Process Consulting, System Integration, and Strategic Advisory. As CEO of Encore Pierian, he served as Project Champion for the Shared Services transformation of a billion-dollar logistics conglomerate across India and the Middle East β leading the end-to-end transition of Finance, Logistics, HR, Business Support, and IT functions from 14 group entities into a unified Shared Services model.
Before taking on operational leadership, Mahesh led Pierian’s digital and strategy agenda as SVP β Strategy & Digital β embedding structured technology thinking into client engagements and internal operations.
He then stepped up as CEO β Ecommerce Businesses, building one of India’s most capable Ecommerce and Retail Shared Services and GCC delivery operations from the ground up β scaling to 700 professionals and establishing Pierian as a serious player in a fast-moving, high-complexity vertical.
He now serves as Group COO, leading operations, business development, client governance, platform development, and organisational transformation across the firm β while simultaneously driving Pierian’s Agentic AI agenda. Under his watch, Meridian β Pierian’s proprietary AI-native operations platform β has moved from concept to live client delivery. Meridian brings together agentic AP invoice processing, multi-client close and governance, and Codex, a structured process intelligence and SOP engine β redefining what a modern Finance Operations partner looks like.
